Suspension UPR Coilover sleeve dosent drop down over strut

I bought a upr kmemeber kit and the coilover sleeve had a notch that should line up and sit/drop down over strut and it dosent cuz the diameter of the strut is the same size as that black threaded tube so it just sits on it and rotated weird when u turn the steering wheel. I made the notch a little bigger with the grinder and no it still didn’t drop over the strut. It’s too fat. Any one ever deal with these k member sets from upr lmr? I think they are sold mismatched upr/viking. Anyone know of some skinny struts I can run with these

No I haven’t I guess I’m gonna have to assumed this was a common issue

I used that kit on a non mustang related project-and had to run through a pack of flap discs to make it happen
