UPR products...opinions?

qa1 is decent stuff.

I've got a few things of theirs on my car. As far as billet aluminum stuffs go, they're pretty decent; some of their other things ... ehhh, I dunno. I've had nothing but headaches from their cat'ed X-pipe; their other things that I've got, though, not a single problem at all. Just depends on what you're looking for from them.

Now how is that k member better than a UPR, They look identical to each other.

May be they buy from UPR and paint black.

Darkwriter, what was the problem with your x-pipe? mine was perfect the one I got from them. Also another + for QA1 i know 4 people running their k-members on street cars driven as daily drivers with no problems.

who cares if upr steals or not. personally ill buy parts from whoever is giving a quality product at the right price. ill buy a copy cat upr control arm anyday if its quality and cheap. but its when i hear stories of failures on suspension components that makes me avoid certain companies like the plague. im in search of the indestructible control arm. my attitude is if your charging more then stock replacements and the stock part at least lasts you better be selling one robust arm. i see upr suspension components on LOTS of high horsepower cars and i have to say im really tempted to buy their stuff. anyone with a lot of high hard miles on upr rear control arms? this is my next purchase and for the life of me i cant pick. i have the money but cant decide. i come from the buy the good stuff buy it once school of thought, and i get really pissed if i have to send stuff back do to poor service or quality. i dont wanna fight with some company on account of them selling a garbage product. yes i read the granatelli control arm fight a couple of years ago and i dont wanna ever have to go through that.

I've griped about my UPR X-pipe in just about every X-pipe or exhaust-related thread that's popped up in Tech, but the main problems are that it doesn't have any tranny-mount hangers, so no matter how tight you crank the mid-pipe fittings, it winds up sagging down eventually and dragging/scraping on everything; additionally, they decided for whatever crackheaded reason to weld the cats into place about 1" too far back so that I had to notch a section out of my tranny crossmember to clear the rear of the cat without it rattling/banging against it all of the time (especially at WOT shifts); one other thing, it seems to be 1" longer than the Jeg's X-pipe in total length, as it moved my tailpipes and everything else way the heck back to the point my tailpipes were clunking on everything and rubbing/burning through my fuel tank lines . All three problems were only exacerbated further by the fact that I had a collapsed motor mount on the passenger's side for a long time - the replacement helped, but didn't cure the main issue (the X-pipe's crappy design/production).

Only nice things I can say about it are that it was dirt-cheap for a cat'ed pipe, it sounds great, and it was easy to bolt up (aside from the grinding of the crossmember part). I'm only keeping the UPR piece for the sake of emissions testing/visual inspections, now, and planning to run the Jeg's off-road X-pipe full-time (assuming I don't have any problems after I bolt it up here in the next hour or so).

I love their Xtreme firewall adjuster and triple-hook quad, plus they've got a lot of nice shifters and knobs n' stuff. Their billet aluminum hinged hood prop is friggin' awesome - I'd get one if I weren't already planning on doing a pin-on cowl hood.

Hmmm.....i can't say much about your X, but i've never used those trany hanger bars.....seriously. I've cut them off of every exhaust setup i've ever owned.

On a side note though, this is another plus of owning full lengths now, because you really don't even need them.
