Well, i received my UPR Off-Road X-Pipe yesterday at freakin 4:35 from UPR. My buddy and I already had the car on jackstands with all the stock crap taken off. It was actually really easy to take the stock midpipe off compared to the one on my 99GT. It came right off, which made me think that the previous owner most likely had exhaust and switched it back to stock before selling it. The pipe came in 2 pieces, but there was also this random small 2" piece of metal that just looked like scrap. Was i supposed to use that on the drivers side or what? It didn't seem like i needed it and everything turned out fine. The only problem now is that i have a freakin leak on the passenger's side AS USUAL because i couldnt get one of the nuts to go on, so its leaking even with a new gasket. I'll have a shop take care of that

Now to the important part......THE SOUND

Holy crap!!! It sounds so amazing. The idle is perfect, and under acceleration its perfect. Quiet inside but on the outside...VERY LOUD and rumbles like crazy. Its the best setup i've heard period and under WOT, it sounds like the end is near. I will definitely get sound clips up ASAP

BTW, you got me stumped on the " scrap " piece. i didnt see it with my stuff.

The extra flange is used on the drivers side between the pipe and the header if there is a fitment issue. It should slip into the pipe and provide a little extra length on that side.
Sounds like that's why you have a leak.
Put it on!

now where are those damn clips

Cam, did you use that extra flange piece? BTW, Menasci, the leak is on the passenger side, the driver side is perfectly fine

BTW, i couldnt get the bolt on becuase the thread on the stud is stripped? WTF should i do now? Buy a new exhaust manifold stud kit and then could i do it myself or would a shop have to? Because most if not all places won't touch an offroad pipe

Wouldnt fit there either lol becuase the flange lays flat on that side on the gasket, so that extra pipe doesn't seem like its used for anything. Once i get the crappy stripped stud on the passenger side taken care of, i'll see if the leak persists. If it does, i'll install that metal little peice on the driver side.

So guys do i just need to go to Ford and get the stud kit or what? I ALWAYS manage to have crap like this happen to me

I think someone mentioned it, but it's an extra adapter sleeve to shore up the driver's side mount to the header.

I'm glad you like the sound. Mine didn't come with the other piece you are talking about (mine was for a 96-98 stang) and neither did the one that UPR sent me first by mistake(which was for a 99-04 stang). Did you have any fitment issues with yours. Mine was less than a 1/4 inch away from the frame in about 3 places. It was hard to get it to fit because of that.
