This is gonna be pretty much pure race car. Block cost a few bones but I ain't gonna screw around this time. Only the best. Here's what she will be

DSS Dart 351 Block
Eagle Forged 408 Rotating assembly, Low Compression
Vortech YSI or Turbo
Jon Kaase or TFS CNC Ported High Port Heads
Custom Cam
C6 Tranny w/transbrake and 3500 stall
TFS Intake

Should be a fun monster to drive. Don't get me wrong, I'm not doing this as a street car. I'm planning on trying to keep it that way but if it ends up strip only I'm not going to be dissappointed. The '96 will be relagated to grocery getter once this one is built. I'm starting to get excited.

Definatly go turbo over blower. T88 would put quite a skip in its step lol... Bet you could build a turbo kit for the same cost as that block cost ya too

Ya I agree Benny. I'm tired of belt slip issues. Turbo is my goal. It will have to wait til next year. Between the motor, tranny, and rearend it will cost a pretty penny this year. Hopefully make my budget for turbo next year.

Here's what she is gonna look like.

Two words, Oil Patch . I'm lucky enough to be established with a wife and son and have a good job. I feel sorry for the kids coming up now adays with the price of houses. Like they always say drag racing makes millionaires out of billionaires. I'm just too stupid to leave well enough alone. This way i get a dedicated track car where if it breaks it can sit in the garage and i won't have to run around trying to get it fixed asap. I can still go for a nice brisk cruise in the '96 and still get my speed fix. Once this drag racing bug bites damn it bites hard.

Our first race is May 25 weekend this year and our last is mid September. We host the NHRA Nationals on August long weekend, at least it's a long weekend for us, not sure about you boys in the States. Aug 1-2-3 up here.

The wife drives it to work all the time and always gets stopped by punks. They always comment on the car and then try to pick her up. She laughs at them and then smokes em. It's been a fun car. A pain in the ass sometimes but a fun car.
