Urgent ? re: oil on cyl. walls ater brake cleaner?

I just read this in a previous post. I tore down the top end of my motor today, and around 7 pm, I was cleaning the iton tops using brake cleaner. I only spayed one piston at atimewhen they were @ TDC, but someone mentioned to put oil on the walls right away so they don't start to rust.
I didn't put any oil on the walls and I won't be back to the shop until 10 am tomorrow.
Do I need to go back there right now and oil the cyliners, or am i too late, or will they be OK as is?

By the way, It's 9 pm right now, they've currently been sitting there for 2 hours.

Brake clean removes all of the oil and exposes the metal to rust quickly. When I did the same thing I oiled them down right away and would suggest you do the same just for piece of mind. Just my two cents

i dont think they will rust enough to cause any damage. in the morning spray some more brake cleaner in there, and than pour some auto tranny fluid (dexron 3) in there or some cheap motor oil and rotate the engine over by hand and you should be fine. i cleaned my entire block off with degreaser and brake cleaner and let it sit for 4 days and most of it was covered in rust so i sprayed it down with the hose and scrubbed it real quick with a brush and than sprayed it with PB blaster. that was two weeks ago, and it hasnt rusted since

well, I ended up going back to oil them up just so I could get some rest before I dive back in!
