There is a guy in the bargain trader who is selling ford racing 24 # injectors and a MAF sensor calibrated for them. My question is, is it ok to buy fuel injectors used, or is that one of those things you dont do?

Buying used injectors is no big deal. Be sure to ask about the miles on them though. If they have quite a few, consider sending them off to have them professionally cleaned. If you don't have them cleaned, after installing them, run some injector cleaner through the system for the first couple fuelings.

And don't try to clean them yourself. Odds are you'll damage them in the process. They're pretty delicate inside.

What he said ^^

Yup...I can atest to that...I roached one before trying the homey cleaning..I read they were delicate....screw that..I can clean these I said..
Nope...screwed em all up. Oh well it was a beater anyway... :D

now, if i get these injectors, besides upgrading the MAF sensor for 24# injectors, is there anything else I would need to do, or can I just swap them out for the 19#'ers and it work just fine? anything at all??? I really dont want to put them in then realize i need new fuel rails, pressure regulator, and pump. Id like to get all this before I decide on the purchase Thanks!!!!

They'll swap in no problem...direct fit....long as the MAFs cal'd for them, your all set...I'd def throw a Kirban AFPR on the list, your gonna want to have the ability to tune....pumps not a bad idea anyway...gotta have the stuff to support the mods... :D

Things should be all set...Tons of guys swap to 24s....pretty much plug and play...It may stumble a time or 2 til the computer catches on and relearns...running 24s on a 19s puter "could cause some issues, but I think overall things are ok...
Some guys run chips, or TwEECer the tweak 24s into the puter...I would get it running and kinda dial things in then head for a dyno tune to nail it down...

Someone who's done the swap should chime in..I opted to stick with 19s versus running 24 with the stock 19s puter....i was leary and didn't want to mess around with possible gremlins, nor did i want to get a chip burned...But as I mentioned, plenty of guys run 24s with the 19 puter....

Call around to your local parts stores. One of them is bound to have a test stand for fuel injectors. It will test and clean all of them before the install. If there happens to be a bad one then you'll need to buy just one instead of a hole set. It's also always a good idea to put new seals on the injectors prior to installation along with just a dab of silicon grease.

i got a used set of 24s 6 months ago.definitly put new o-rings on them and get the matching maf.the computer doesn't know 19 from 24s,it only goes by the maf, except for cobra stuff i think.

You're right. The Cobra computer accounts for the 24# injectors even with the same MAF as the GTs use.
