Sorry I didn't get back to you about that, Rick. They didn't give me much. They seemed to think that the crank was a Chevy crank, not a ford crank, based on the serial number. So, Mike (my builder - Dayton Performance) is going to check it out. Sonny Bryant is stamped in the #1 counterweight where it is supposed to be, and it looks the part as well. So, if Bryant Racing is right, this crank is a non issue. I'm still likely to go with another nascar crank if they'll work, though.
I'm looking for people with experience. I've know the theories and the popular opinion that most people don't like the idea of a used crank (even if it has been maged, and is still to spec).
The guys that have them and have spoken to me about them include one who runs them in a renegade motor with no problems, a guy who ran them at over 800 hp in their nextel cup cars and never had a problem. All of the people who have experience with them seem to think that my application will work fine. I'm looking for someone especially who's broken one and how.
Please limit responses about these cranks to actual experiences with them.
Thank you,
Chris
