I have a few questions on driveshafts for my V6. First question is - is it too horsepower that causes it to fail or is it top speed? Secondly is it really worth it and are they benefitial on a V6?

Fail ? I haven't heard of them failing. They're heavy, and noisy, but there are people who have been over 130 mph w/the stock driveshaft. It's the same driveshaft as in the GT.

I was under the impression that over a certain speed they can break apart?

sorry not true... very different driveshafts.... I know of 3 guys that have had their driveshafts fly apart on the dyno... all seemed to report that it happened around 130MPH...

One more question - Is the V6 driveshaft the same as the V8? Because many websites sell two seperate driveshafts a V6 one and a V8 one.

Actually the drive shaft in the V6 is rated at 115. It starts to vibrate at that speed. Personally, if you plan on going that fast I would replace it.
