My 2016 coupe came with the 051A option that made the driver seat powered but not the passenger seat. Can the GT Premium passenger seat be fitted without a lot of work and expense? I'd like the two seats to be close in appearance too.

Not sure about the 2016, but the 2015 V6 cloth seats were specifically designed for the V6 and are different than the base GT seats. Any level up from the base GT is leather i believe. Unless the allowed you the option of leather in your V6 for 2016. Which would have me all kinds of pissed off since when i ordered my 2015 wanted leather but dealer and Ford said not available...

It looks to me that cloth seats are all you can get on the V6 car. There didn't appear to be any other optional interiors from what I could find by searching Ford's website, general web surfing and searching local dealers inventory before I bought the car.Recently I did see a new fairly low cost GT with a cloth power passenger seat that had the same seat pattern as my V6 on one dealer lot. It would have worked so I called the dealer that I bought my car from and asked for a quote to replace my seat and install this GT seat in my car and they quoted $2000.They wouldn't budge off that figure. Having done some research on the web, I saw the seat base with the power mechanism going for a little more than $500 and various switches and trim panels for around $100 so I figured around $1000 for the conversion using my stock seat. There's a wire bundle sticking up through the carpet on the floorboard so I thought the wiring might be simple for a dealer mechanic. I may explore the salvage yard and local interior shops next. $2000 was just a little steep.

That's a whole lotta cheese at 2000. woah! I can have my interior upgraded to leather with matching red stitching for around 1400. But I have to admit the cloth seats are dang nice for a base model. I am in mine predominately solo, so wouldnt be worth it to upgrade passenger seat to power. Sounds like you have found a more reasonable alternative.

Hi Bill.I had the cloth seats in my 2000 V6 coupe and they held up really well in the 10 years that I had the car so having them in the new car was OK. Actually it's the only seat material in the V6 model from what I could see in all my pre-buy research. The material is like canvas compared to the cloth material in the '89 Pontiac Grand Prix that I had too. That cars cloth was more like linen and didn't hold up well. I had to have it repaired a couple of times before I traded it for the 2000 Stang.
