Build Thread V6 To V8 Conversion?

hey guys, i was just wondering if it would be worth it to drop a v8 in my v6 mustang. it a 2002 5 speed 3.8 and i wanted to drop a 5.0 or 5.4 in my car. i want a little more pep in my step when i step on the gas but still street legal. i want to over all replace my v6 and put a v8 in my car but i want to know what all it would take to do that, i was thinking about going to get a 94-95 engine but alot of people call those 5.0 engines "five point slow" why is that? i am new to this and i want some tips and tricks on what all i can do. any help would be great!

IMO I would just do a 4.6 it will be easier in the long run.

Honestly....It would probably be cheaper to Sell what you have and buy a Mustang that came with the V8. The swap can be done but its gonna cost more than the difference in just buying the v8. You need the Engine, Transmission, Wiring, Computer, K member and rear end. Plus i believe the V8 has a different suspension too.

Now if you have a serious itch to do some heavy wrenching and want to get away from the girlfriend this project will make her jealous.....Ask me how i know? lol

Unless you've got money and time to burn, I'd sell it and get a GT if you've got that bad of an itch for a V8.

I don't think truer words have ever been spoken. This is something I've always wanted to do with my mustang. No money makes it impossible though. But good to know it'll be pretty sweet if it's done. I might still once I have a bit saved up, it'd probably be the only one like it for miles and miles too. That's one of the best parts.

But yeah, like everyone said, if you don't have time or money, just buy a GT. Learn this and it'll save you a lot of heartache and difficulty down the line.
