? the 99 up T-5 is one of the strongest T-5's made including all the ones they put on the 5.0s ...the v6 can screw up a tranny just as easy as a 4.6 can, they did beef them up in mid 01 to the HD tranny, a t45 is nearly the same just different here and there i am pretty sure their tq and hp ratings are nearyl identical.

his is a 97 model so it is still like mine probably. i got a 95 and i hate it with a passion.i got this car for 3000 dollars paid in full with dual exhaust, chrome rims and a full boston acoustic sound system with a kenwood motorized face stereo, and that is with tax. the motor started knocking 15 minutes away from the dealer. i was only driving normal. yesterday a saw a 96-98 gt for sale for 2,650. i wish i coul have got that instead.

What do you expect for three grand? The car itself could have been abused, too. BTW a GT for 26 hundered is probably worth just the 26 hundered.

it was a chicks car. but when i took the old motor out it had brand new gaskets and seals all the way around and was pretty clean. i suspected a bad rebuild. it had a bad rod bearing.

i don't know if it was auto or manual. i did not stop and look but i would much rather have a gt than a v6 any day.

94-98 V6 T-5's are among the weakest and 99+ are among the strongest stock T-5's put in a Mustang.

But like it was said, a T-5 will not bolt up to a 4.6.
