I love the idea of a base LX with a V8 but Ford will never do it again. We should be happy, it's what makes our cars all the more enjoyable, we had options! Notch, Hatch, Vert, LX and GT trim levels, T-roof. I seriously doubt they'll ever offer so many options again! Though there is a glass roof option available now.

Punisher Racing: I believe you are correct it was around $1300

I really like my '89 LX with the V8. I don't really need to have my '92 GT options all the time. With the 2.73 gears and the creature comfort, the LX is a great cruising vehicle. Plenty of power, strong and smooth. I also prefer a cloth interior (is cloth available on GTs?).

It would be nice to have the opportunity to buy a 8-year-old used "LX" with a V8.

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

The 01 Bullitt came in Green, Blue, and Black, so at least they cut it down to 2 Colors, they all should be Green though!

I would think that the reason there was no more LX V8 after 1993 is because both models after that looked very similar. With the SN95 and the New Edge, there was very little difference with the exterior besides the badging and wheels. Even with the new model, I believe you can order a GT with the V6 spoiler. I could be wrong about that, but I remember looking at a window sticker at a dealership and it had the GT spoiler listed as an option, not standard equipment.
