Has anyone heard anything about the new "Vacuum Formed Fiberglass Hood with Full Steel Frame"from Tony Branda Performance. Quoted as the "Best one Available". Are there any other manufacuturers out there that do the same hood without the Branda price of $475.00. I was burnt by buying a 65-66 Shelby hood from Unlimited. After prepping the hood it dropped. After reprepping and painting it bowed on the outside and dipped on the lateral sides of the hood scoop. And yes I was using low tension hood springs.

Any input is genuinely appreciated.

Thanks

Hoods

The Branda hood is the best out there. With fiberglass, you get what you pay for. Best to "pony up" and pay for quality, so you avoid the problems later.

BTW, did you know the 1965 Shelby GT-350's had the same problem? An original car with an original hood will have a bowed hood. Truth. They all did that!

Also, try no hood springs, and hold the hood up by pinning the hinges, a catch chain on the hinges, or a prop rod.

I had a Branda hood on my first '66 convertible (10 years ago). Fit was perfect and never had problems.

I have the Branda hood now. Very good qualilty and fit(as far as fiberglass goes)
Also as others have said, don't use any springs at all.
