I read in a Mustang Tuning book that it is not safe to use carburator/TB cleaner to check for a vacuum leak. Is there any truth to that or is there something else better I can use to check besides taking it in to a shop.

You do run the risk of catching something on fire but if you pay close attention(less than 1%) to what you're doing you should be ok. It is a very effective way to find vacume leaks. I've been diong it like that for years with no problem. Make sure your ignition system is sound before doing so. :nice:

Thanks for the warning...I am pretty sure I do not want to find out the hard way. I will try the starter fluid. I guess I can pick that up at any auto shop, right?
