I have an interested buyer for my rear axle assembly complete, C4 transmission, and 289 4V engine with Holley 600 cfm carb and factory FORD aluminum high rise manifold. Everything works but the engine is tired and could use a rebuild, but does run OK. The carb needs a rebuild too. Everything worked when it was pulled from the car a few weeks ago. Any rough guesstimates on what it's worth? I have an offer for $800. I'm not looking to make a mint here, just want a fair deal. TIA for any replies.

$800 to $1000 seems about right based of prices on craigslist...but then, numbers matching may be worth more to some people...I myself wouldnt pay more than $1000, maybe $1200 max because of the holley and manifold, but then, I'm not exactly a concourse buyer eiter

$150 for the engine, it's tired.

$150-200 for the rear
$150-200 for the trans

i'd take the $800 and run...the vintage mechanical stuff isn't worth a lot any more
