Valve Cover Breathers cause MAF Problems

I am thinking that my problem with my ride might be with the open element air breathers that are on the valve covers. I have half of what I should on the MAF reading. I should be around 8 and I am bouncing between 4.8 and 5.5. I am going to plug these tomorrow, what do you guys think?

What bounces between those numbers? Your MAF output? If so, it's a 5 Volt reference.

The MAF simply reports how much air goes over the element, regardless what the air does after that. It's only in the ancillary sensors and feedback loop where unmetered air and vac leaks create issues. And as long as you dont mix breathers and a PCV, you should not have feedback issues either.
