I had a new set of head and check the pushrod length when originally installed. pattern was dead center and narrow. In about 2000 mile the guides were shot and it was smoking. I had all the guides replaced and the maching shot could not see why the guides were worn out. The wear was not oblong. It was the whole guide ruling out geometry right? I was inspecting all the parts putting it back to gether and found this. (see pic)

looks like the rocker was misalligned and contacting the valve. Would this cause the guide wear? All my specs are in my signature below

No quite the answer to your question, but after a quick search i found that rhs heads are pro toplines.
I know those were not too good.
And with pro topline you know it's not good when you start entering the words in a google search and the second suggestion before you even finishing typing Pro topl.... is "problems".

The heads were checked by a machine shop before install and all was in order. Anyone else?

It's got to be one of very few things causing it.
Bad or cheap guides themselves, valve seals which is unlikely and the likely culprits would be mis-aligned rocker mount holes or wrong length pushrods.

All things that any good machine shop should know about.
