Valve tap noises???

I've had my '02 GT since November and there is one thing that always has bothered me. I have a noise that sounds like valve tap (which I doubt that is what it is) when the car is cold. I can hear it most right about 3k RPM. I'm not sure if that is it, but after the car warms up, it goes away. I assume that since the noise goes away that it is no big deal, but I thought I would check to see what :SNSign: has to say.

I also have this. Sounds like a valve tick until it warms up. I looked into it a couple of months age here and found out that it what piston slap (aka Death rattle). Nothing you can do about it, and it is not a something to worry about, just don't romp the car when cold.

you should check the spark plug torque just to be sure (13-15 ft/lbs).

check your spark plugs and make sure they are tight...a common warning is a ticking sound as they are backing out of the head. Lots of people have had plug eject out and strip threads so just take a look.
