i have a lot of noise from idle trough the rpm range. i just bought the car. the previous owner put heads and a cam in it with roller rockers. anything i can do?
Yea I would start with checking the rockers for missadjustment, at the same time go ahead and do a compression test on all cylinders bc this will possibly show you that some or a cylinder's intake and exhaust valves are not sealing all the way or are not opening all the way when the cam lobe moves the lifter then moves the push rod then moves the rocker which then moves the valve. But make sure that you have a battery charger hooked up bc if you don't you will get diff readings and you should be seeing at least 90 to 150 psi. Oh yea pull the fuel pump relay when you do this you do not want the motor to start.
thanks i will be pulling the valve covers this weekend. also this was probably important, the car sat for some time. could i have a stuck lifter? my friend suggested doing an oil change but i dont see how that would help.
