VCT cam solenoid short circuit

My check engine light came on, got a code that says my intake cam position actuator circuit is open. A failed VCT solenoid. Car seems to run fine. Anyone know what's going on? This controls the variable cam timing?

Have any mods done? If so what? Try resetting the PCM by disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes.
