Its your car not theres do whatever you want to it who gives a **** what they have to say. On the subject though I think Vertical Doors are pretty sweet like they said though price is a bit high.

you're right, to each their own. but he did ask us for our opinion so he opened the field up for how 85% of mustang owners do not like them on a mustang.

lmao, the reason "I" would want verts is to prevent my kid from dinging my door on trips to a store. They look ok, not great not bad, I was saying there are other functional reasons for them. If you want to be a goat sucker and call people rice for the doors they have, go for it... I just hope you dont judge any shows...

Besides, its my car I'm going to do what I want, and if that includes getting neons so I can turn my bass on and my neons on when next to some ricer, and then blow his doors off and say "wow, I have all the same useless stuff you do, yet your car runs 15's...." then so be it.

HOWEVER the reason for "ME" is that I dont want my kid knicking my doors, in case you havent noticed Mustang doors are quite long.

I have alot in mind of the things that I want to do. I just figured i'd toss in the lambo door as a option. I'm not looking to flame .......... just looking for options. I plan on doing all the motor work needed as well as going forced ...... But if I do all that first and say i'll do the doors later, they will never get done. I figure if I make my car more appealing, it will give me the boost to finnish her.

It won't give you more boost to finish it, it'll give you less money and more: "Damn, I spent HOW MUCH already?"

Vertical doors are a nice chunk of a blower kit, or the majority of a sweet heads/cams package.

you did mention your kid at the grocery store, but not him dinging doors as you being the reason to wanting lambo doors. but if you think that 2g's is worth it to spend so your kid wont ding doors, then thats a good reason.

Or teach the kid not to fling car doors open. Good lesson so some car enthusiast doesn't beat the crap out of him later in life.

in case you didn't notice, I mentioned this is a mod that I wont honestly xonsider until the price drops below 500... as far as the kid, shes a good kid, but accidents happen... to prevent those accidents I'm the idiot that parks four or five lanes away from the entrance in the rear where no cars are and come out of the store to find a 1970's van parked 2 inches from the door, in those cases I pull out of the spot a ways so she has room to open the door... it would be nice to park in a normal spot though.

All I was trying to say is that if there is a functional reason for something its not rice.... if I put LEDs are my car (I may someday if I but another stang strictly for racing, this one will go show... unfortunately that means having more doodads than the other guy as far as winning goes for a new model GT) that would be rice, but vert doors to eliminate dings and whatnot isnt rice IMO

EDIT: oh and one more thing theoretically, if I buy eveyr engine mod available to include N2O and a S/C or Turbo, and then get all the "blingage" if my cars running 11s with the doodads is it rice still? Or is it an "acceptable level of visual modification in relation to the ET modulification"? Just a thought (IMO Rice is a definition not restricted to imports, but more the whole Fart can carbon fiber wing, more money on non-functional exterior looks than speed, and IMO I am trying to balance both aspects although I am concentrating on my defintion of style before speed for certain reasons... one being paying off this car before buying an econo-vehicle)

i am thinking about that door a month ago.
it looks bad azz. i like it a lot. i mean, seriously, i have been to couple of mustang show and shine in my area, not one mustang have it on. Maybe most mustang owners dont like to waste that much money on look, and they just wanna put it in performance. However, i already finish my performance with a Coast High Performance forged 5.1L stroker kit + a Kenne Bell 9psi.
now, my uncle like the door, and he is willing to lend me 2G to blow. so whenever i get the money from him, i will have it on. However, i am still debating about this and return style fuel system to run 14psi safely

Granted, i did open up a can of worms with asking YOUR opinion. Seeing no one chimed in that they have them here I can see why.

Wether or not I get the doors is my choice. This is NOT my only car. Its my daily/summer car. Its my baby that I like to have fun in. Its a great car to drive that turns alot of heads.

Would I put them on my drag car that sits on a trailor and is not registered ?? Hell no, they have no function for it. Would I put them on my daily driver that sees some track use and car shows ?? Why not.

They are trick. they are not conventional though. If i was doing a show car, then i would consider it if i had the money to do it. As for being "rice" i dont think so. I think they are pretty exotic. Ricers do put lambos doors on their cars, but they were ricers before the doors went on. The doors do not make a car rice...the other factors do.(wing, attitude, fart cans, huge tacks, guages not plug in, ect)

Yeah, that was with 315/35/17 BFG DR's and non-drag suspension (front swaybar still on) 17" DR's really aren't what they're cracked up to be, and if you DO hook with them, you can look forward to blowing the rear end if it's not built.

Thanks though, not sure on the DA that day, but the 1.888 60' still leaves a lot more improvement. My car will go low 13's if I could learn how to drive it.

Wait a minute. Criticism isn’t an opinion, it’s just mean. It’s your car; you decide how much money to spend on it and on what. Don’t give a rats a$$ what someone else thinks. If I like it and you don’t, thanks for your opinion. But if you think you can make me feel bad about it, screw you. Stupidest thing you’ve ever heard of? That’s demeaning to the guy asking for your opinion?

Waste of money? Why should you care if I don’t? I’m not asking you to pay for it. What deity decided what mods are important and what are a waste? I have no idea what ‘s important to you; race, show and shine, take the kids to school everyday, so you probably have no idea what’s important to me. People who mod their cars DO NOT always want power, only power or power first.

Vertical doors are rice? Gull wings are rice? Um, that will come as a shock to the 1954 Mercedes 300SL owner, or the owner of that screaming yellow Lambo. A stang is no longer a stang with vertical doors? So if it doesn’t say Saleen or Roush then it’s no longer a real mustang? Carroll Shelby, SVT and others make one-off cars with all kinds of cool $hit we would die for that looks nothing like a regular Mustang… they’re not real? Fart cans are rice, vertical doors are exotic and trick.

How often do we hear “I’m so sick of being the same as everyone else. I won’t get Cobra R wheels cuz everybody has them. I want to be unique”. What? Vertical doors are TOO unique?

Personally I like the look of the vertical doors; I've always liked vertical doors, and I think functionally they would be great. You will always pay big money for unusual esthetics. Bottom line, do what YOU like.
