Lightnings suck, they are not good as a truck OR as a race car. They are teh ghey and they are worthless unless you already have 2-3 vehicles (are rich). They are one of the least practical vehicles on the road.
You have to decide if you personally prefer a vette or a terminator. For me the choice would be an easy one.
beyond performance is apperance....... id take a 03/04 cobra over a vette anyday....
as far as trucks my winter car is a jeep with a 3" lift?? i dont appreciate being classified the way some of you are....and my jeep does find itself offroading quite often.... i also have a flowmaster muffler... the **** sounds good...???
as far as race trucks look beyond a lightning too.... look at the SRT-10 truck.... that thing is sick.... it eats mustangs, LS1's, etc. granted its expensive as hell but saying a truck doesnt deserve to be a race car, etc.... your nuts..
Agreed lowered trucks with rims are retarded. Lightning is the ONLY non-4x4 truck I would EVER own.
You say they arent for racing. So why do you have a Mustang? Do you race it? Does everyone who has a Mustang use it to race?

Shoot, Id take a Lightning over My Mustang ANY DAY OF THE WEEK based on practicality. I had an F150 a couple years back and I miss that thing more than anything. I love my Mustang dont get me wrong, but L vs my GT.... Im going with the L.
If anything I see a Lightning on getting the performance of a Mustang and the practicality of being able to haul **** for your buddys when their spouse kicks them out of the house. Best of both worlds.
+1 for lightning but they don't make them anymore, and I would never buy a used one. All I've ever seen at my old job was pretty new lightnings with brand new tires (with stickers on them) meaning they have been BEAT UP
The only vette I'd buy would an 06' Z06. You can SC a vette but don't turn up the boost. If you want 11's all that takes in a cobra is pulley, exhaust, & DR's. You can do alot more for less in a Cobra.
