I recently posted a problem I am having with vibes. I am sure its now possibly the harmonic balancer. But I have another issue. Here it is, when I am in 1st gear and let go of the gas to shift into 2nd, it feels like I am hitting the brake while shifting into 2nd. Then when I am shifting from 2nd into 3rd it feels like that as well. Or when I am cruising in 3rd gear and let go of the gas to coast i start slwoing down right away. But if I am in 4th gear and cruise and let go of the gas its no different than being in an automatic and cruising at like 35 and letting go of the gas and it feels smooth. I was also wondering if the tranny can be causing a vibe issue? My tranny is less than a year old with about 7+ thousand miles on it. It also seems like i have to give my car more gas to get going than i used after having put in this tranny once my last one took a dive! Because at low rpms my car is a slug but once I hit the throttle all the way it screams squats and takes off!

mine vibrates like a bitch too as the rpms build, it could be a poorly balance fly wheel or a bad harmonic balancer. vibs are very hard to find and narrow down because there are so many rotating thing on a car.

as far as the breaking feeling when you let off the gas, of course that is going to be more prominent in lower gears anytime you are over 2k rpm its going to have a relatively high amount of resistance when letting off the gas.

I am going to replace my harmonic balancer soon. My resistance in gear while letting off the gas is alot more now than it used to be. Like when crusing in 3rd at about 32-35mph and when I let go of the gas i start to slow down fast! It feels like i have to much resistance! I know my brakes arent grabbing or dragging so thats not it. Is it possible for the tranny itself to be the main blame or is it the motor? Thats what I am wondering?
