Victor Junior or Twisted Wedge for 302?

Hi All,
I am ready to buy a set of heads and was told to look at the Victor Jr's as well as the Twisted Wedge. Are the Jr's too large for a 302 block?

The bottom end has been rebuilt, I have BBK 1 5/8" Long tubes, TFS Street Intakes, NX 150 Nitrous (don't run it alot though), and the other common mods. The future will most likely bring a Supercharger when $$ is saved up.

Which is the better choice. And will my headers work with both? Thanx for the input..

The victor Juniors may offer a few more peak HP than the trickflow but I think the Trickflows are a better head for your application.

You really cant go wrong either way. Price may be the determining factor. I have a set of Trickflow twisted wedge heads on my backup motor and I only paid 500 bux for them used.

Thanx, also is piston/valve clearance a problem w/ the Jr's??

For a 302 I would go with the twisted wedges personally.

The victors are going to want more RPM to make the hp...if you're a street car you might find issues with the powerband being a bit high. You might very well have clearance issues with the Vic heads if your running stock pistions. Both are great heads.

Piston to valve clearance is a strange science.

I run a .566/.566 lift cam with 218/224 duration @.050 with 2.02 1.60 valves and stock pistons. My clearances were on the edge of acceptable but it cleared.

the Victor Jr heads have a 2.05" intake valve, if you do not have an aftermarket piston that is made for a large valve you will have radial clearance issues...

Personally I think either head could work well properly cammed...but I would want to change the Street Heat intake out for the Vic Jr head combo.
