Tips to understanding your vehicles serial (VIN) number
They are as follows:
1st character- Identifies the country in which the vehicle was manufactured.
For example: U.S.A.(1or4), Canada(2), Mexico(3), Japan(J), Korea(K), England(S), Germany(W), Italy(Z)
Okay, I guess I should have been more explicit. The 8th digit is the engine code. I went to Ford Fleet and entered my VIN. It came back with a 4.0 in my 05 GT. I can assure everyone it does in fact have a 4.6.
I was just wondering what code anyone else has for the 8th digit.
I'm guessing the VIN finder is incorrect. Has anyone tried their VIN?

Yes, it has been used by many people on the forums and is very inconsistent. It shows I have a 4.0 as well. Fortunately, I am able to completely disagree with their results I love my GT
