Hey guys, I've had my car for about 3 years now, and it's pretty clear that the glossy black racing stripes have seen their fair share of rain over the years. They've become sort of splotchy looking, and there's nothing I can do to get them clean. Does getting 3 years out of the vynil seem about right? It's just depressing because I washed, clayed, polished, and waxed my stang over the weekend, and those stripes just look dispicable!

I'm considering getting them redone because I now have a garage to keep my car in everyday. But, about how much would you say is a fair price to pay (stripes down the hood, the top, and on the trunk)? They were installed by an outside contractor already when I bought the car from the dealer, so I'm a little uncertain as to what ppl charge.

Thanks!

lifespan on vinyl ranges, usually from 3-7 years depending on the conditions it sees. it will probably run you over $500 to stripe the car with vinyl. for a bit more, paint will be permanent and not deteriorate faster than the rest of the car.

Wow, I got a deal then. I bought mine from Baltimore street mods for $130 and they were installed for around $100. Next time I will be doing them myself.

really depends on the area. i have seen some people get it done for under $300, and others over $2000. you will have to get quotes from different shops.
