I am looking to buy a set of forged factory pistons. The seller and I are not sure if they are forged or hypereutectic. He believes they are forged, but not for sure. I am looking for some visual differences of the pre-93 forged pistons vs. the Hypers. I have the Hypers, so I need some info on the forged. Are there different part numbers associated with each? Are there identifiable manufacturing markings? I was told that the forged pistons look different on the underside of the piston. If anybody has any knowledge of these differences, please advise. Any pics on the underside of factory 87-92 forged pistons would be greatly appreciated.
