I have been test running my car for about 2 weeks checking for any leaks since the twin turbo install and today I had a small fire under the hood. I have a 130amp alternator installed which was not the problem but the plug for the regulator is at the top and my water line on top of the intake some how(leaning on it) was smashed on the connector which put the hose clamp right on the wires and caused them to short out while the engine was running causing a wire insulator fire which I blew out since the main alternator fuse blew. I repaired the wires at the connector but no alternator power when I start the car. Yes I replaced the fuse but I was wondering before I take the alternator off to have bench tested if the wires from the regulator connector have fusible links. I also wondered if someone has the procedure to test the regulator since that was what got crossed. Regulator is only $35 and a rebuilt alternator is $140. If someone even has a wiring diagram that is color coded that would be great also.
