I'm going to pick it up hopefully at the end of this month, it has a FMU, Anderson powerpipe, a 6 lbs and 9 lbs Pully, I only want to run low boost. My car is already MAF, and will be dyno tuned after I put it on.

I didn't... I am deciding to take new routes, and lean away from fox's... I will still keep mine (I think) and save up for a new edge... May be a few months, but I am so sick of the noise' these things are straight up rattleboxes. And I don't want to put money Into the rattles...
One of my buddies has a 99' GT, and after riding in that car, it makes me lean more into them, they just have a new car feeling, smooth with power. And it only had bolt ons.

I would get it for 800. Everyone says you can find an strim for not much more but I've never seen a used S-trim for under 1200 for the complete kit, bolt on and go. Not saying no one has ever sold it for under that but good luck finding it. 800-900 would be a fair price. If you take others advice and look for an strim be prepared to shell out 1200-1500 minus the accessories you need, injectors, mad, fuel pump.

Just said I was getting it for $500... I already have a maf, 24 lbs Injectors, and 190 LPH pump...

But these older kits were made to directly bolt onto a stock fox. That is with running the FMU.

You stole that for $500. Good For you! The A-trim is an older piece but still a great blower. Don't go crazy and keep the boost around 6-8 psi and let her eat. High boost equals high intake air temps, and the a-trim will heat it up fast. I have 3 friends running a-trims right now with great results.
The beauty of the A trim is fact that you can pic one up cheap (as you know), bolt it on and make power.

I also love how those baby's scream.

Good Luck and have fun!

Absolutely. Won't have to change a thing, just unbolt one and bolt in the other. May need to get it retuned with added boost.

honestly i was also gonna purchase the A -trim from vortech but i believe that the most u can push is 8 plus whatever you get from the power pipe i just saved more money and got the S-trim it comes with 8 psi pulley and i believe it can do 18 psi that way u can change pulleys and if you decide to get a better engine then boost more and what not different setups......

An S-Trim won't spin 18psi anywhere near efficiently. If you're gonna move that much air, you're asking for trouble going with anything less than a T-trim.

Personal opinion, but I'd go turbo before I'd push that much boost with a centri.

I probably would too. My thought are, that people are too hung up on "boost" figures. Who cares how much boost your power adder makes. A person could make enough power to split the stock block with 10-12psi and the right combination of parts just as easily as they could with 18psi.

If I wanted to make huge power levels, the sure, I'd go for the turbo. But it's not going to be cheap and probably not going to be as consitent for the most part.

I think it's more important to pick the "right" power adder for your needs, than it is to pick the one that suports the most horsepower.

I mean...what good is it picking a power adder that'll suport 700-800hp, when your stock bottom end won't survive much more than 500-550hp and you never plan on making more than 450hp in the first place? Running a power adder below it's efficency range is just as counter productive as running it above.

Personally....I'd recommend picking the smallest power adder available, that can efficiently meet my power goals. The smaller the blower/turbo, the more responsive it's going to be and faster it's going to be able to ramp up to speed and deliver the boadest power band.

^ This.

I too struggle with "should i go power adder, should I do motor". I lose sight of the whole reason I built my car in the first place. Figure out the goals you want to achieve, then plan off that.

OP: way to steal that for $500!
