Is there a belt routing issue when you have eliminated the smog pump with either of these blower kits?

Thanks J

Yeah, it doesn;t work. You need a pulley down there to route the belt around.

I didn't think it would, I just figured i'd get an idler pulley of some sort and fab a bracket to hold it in place, or room permiting move the alt up there.

I did it with the idler pulley way. Even if I bought the SMOG delete kit I could run it, since I wanted to keep my PS in stock location and have no AC. I flipped the tensioner bracket around and spaced the pulley out so it lined up with the others. Bought the chrome "J" channel bracket from Advance Auto and bolted it to my blower mounting plate and the slot part to the alt. Got a belt that was bareky long enough to fit over the pullies and slid the alt down to tighten the belt. An alt with internal cooling fan works better, then external fans do with this method. But if you have the stock alt all you need to do is clearance the J bracket some, and possibly find a smaller cooling fan.. Here is a pic...

If you want pics of the "J" bracket in place e-mail me.. mike86gt@bellsouth.net
