Why the vortech, you can cram 3 extra lbs of boost for less money?

i think it's more of a question of do you want the better blower with the noise or do you want a more stealthy sleeper with out the whine.

It has nothing to do w/ noise. You buy a blower for power, not for the sound that it makes.

i don't have any experience with either, but from what i've heard Vortech is a better made unit. Not to say powerdyne is crap but it seems i've heard less complains from Vortech owners. Enjoy wichever you get

what i meant was, some people like the sleeper effect, with little or no noise in which case some people choosy the powerdynes over the others.....

I will be going Powerdyne, because of the quiet operation. The drone from the motor can drive me crazy on long trips, I don't need to add gear whine on top of that.

The major issue I know of is that the older belts failed periodically.
I don't know if the belt material was changed or if they changed the design.

I have heard from a couple of people that they had one or 2 belts break at first, but that it hasn't happened in quite some time.
Just what I have heard.

I wouldnt waste my money on either one of those peices of crap. They are all OLD technology! You need the latest tech from overseas! American companies are stuck in the 60's, here is what I will be going with.

I would go with vortech, i have heard of paxton's breaking the belts, the the pros of the paxton is that you dont have to tap the oil pan when you put it on. just an fyi

I've got a vortech... its a much better unit than the powerdyne... and even though the powerdyne pushes more boost striaght out of the box, its pretty much at its limit. The vortech can create more pressure, with more reliability and effectiveness than a powerdyne can. all it takes is a pulley swap man. (of course, you gotta add the necessary fuel mods too )

The powerdyne makes a clear cut Blower whine, any Mustang or Car guy can hear trust me, the Vortech is defnetly louder and is a more solid unit and more upgradable. The Powerdyne is a good supercharger, its just when you go swapping in smaller pullys it tends to break the internal belt, Not a big if you plan of running 6-9lbs of boost
