I just wanted to know if buying a used supercharger is a bad thing to do or is it ok to do. Would there be a chance i get it and it doesnt work or anything like that? I just want to see if its safe to find a used one. Does anyone know where i can find a good one used to buy? Thanks everyone

You want to make sure the person you're buying from is trustworthy, just like anything else. You can put together a really inexpensive Vortech setup if you shop carefully. Personally I would get the brackets used, and look for a recently rebuilt head unit. The Corral classifieds are much better than StangNet's. And there's always eBay.

Thanks everyone, i wish i could pay monthly to vortech. I dunno how im goin to come up with that money right now. Im in West Palm Beach. What do you think i could find a decent used vortech for price wise?
Used, youre looking at $1500-$2000, depending on what it comes with, polished or not, age, "supply and demand", etc.

Just a few months too late. I sold mine for $1900 on Ebay. The guy that I bought it from had it serviced by Vortech before sending it to me. Of course I called with the serial number and it checked out.

How do you define "quality one"? I was thinking Vortech V2.

Dave

I was thinking for $2500 all you can get new is a Powerdyne. That Summit price is a V2. For a FOX body an A-trim is $1895. ATI, Paxton, Kenne Bell are all over $3200.

EDIT=Damn Post order! Looks like I'm talking to myself.

I admit that I'm thinking tuner kit, because that's more appropriate for me (don't want no stinkin' FMU, thanks :D). Muscle Motors sells the Vortech S-trim tuner kit with V1 or V2 head unit for $2400.

If I don't find a good price on a used one, that'll be the way I go. While not really financially ready, I've been keeping my eye on S-Trims for several months. Although lately I've seen some better deals, people usually want $2K+ for em. Who knows how many little pices will be missing too. Vortech rapes you on little pieces.

you can pay monthly installments to pay pal with approved credit when making some purchases from Ebay. try coolblueperformance, they sell them for 2799.99 with a powerpipe and they have the pay pal payment option.94-04 models from vortech

A-trim is not made any more. Got my Paxton for $1600, brand new. That sucks you get screwed. You should all call Vortech and tell them to make you a cheap kit, lol.

Guess Summit still has a few A-Trims because they are advertising them for $1895 on the website.

I just put this on the market and it sold within a few hours to a fellow stangneter..
Everything listed below, good condition, no problems, 15,000 miles on blower.

Vortech S-trim w/ 2.95 8 rib pulley(14lbs)
Aftercooler with upgraded water pump.
Vortech Monda by-pass valve
All brackets and hardware
AFM powerpipe
K+N Air Filter
1991 AL9 ECU
42 lb FMS Injectors- few hundred miles
Pro-M 75mm Meter
T-Rex inline fuel pump

I settled for WAY under 3000....Its not sold yet, im holding it for another 2 months.

Question is, is it a 94-95 kit?
I bought a fox body kit for my 89 w/ everything (other than a few small pieces, like an alt. stay), with 8 and 10 rib set-ups for $1300. You can still get killer deals on fox bodies, but it seems if you're par4t of the scourge (94-94), you're better off buying a tuner kit.
