I was going to trade my V2 SQ trim to someone for his V1 S trim, If we just exchange head units should they bolt up to our brackets respectively? I'm not going to do the trade if it's a PITA. Also is there any good questions to ask outside the normal ones to ensure the head unit is good?

It will work. Why do you want to trade blowers? They are pretty much the same blower except the V-1 has more gear noise.

The V2 compressor is more efficient, but at lower boost levels, you'd likely never notice a difference. I'd keep the V2 and upgrade it to an Si trim, if anything...

Forget it, I just heard from him, His car is an 89 not an 02, so it wont work anyhow.

How do I upgrade to Si trim? or should I ask, what are the advantages?

I'm not sure if Vortech is still offering the deal, but it was like $300 to upgrade without a rebuild and $600 for new bearings. They install a new impeller and volute (larger opening for the bigger impeller). It flows 50 CFM shy of a T trim for a lot less money out of your pocket. It should start building boost at a lower RPM, too. There's a thread on Corral about it. Let me do some digging and post it up here.

Edit: Found it already: http://forums.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?p=7734342
