I got an '02 GT. Mid headers, xpipe, magnaflow, accufab eblow, 75mm tb, mac cai, UD pullies, 50shifter, (soon cams and programmer.) Ive been looking at these cams but still have some questions.

What are the specs on both these cams?
What HP increase should I expect?
Which pair do you recommend?

also, ive read that VT went out of bussiness. That true? VTengines.com site is closed, but there is a VTcompititionengines.com. Is this that same company?

Thanks guys!

their products have no problems, it's a great cam. I'd prefer it, if you can find them that is

I think it's someone who used to work for VT that is now selling the cams along with various other parts. I got this off Mustang forums

http://www.cushmanmotorsports.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=11_1_8

seems legitimate. I might get my set of Stage 2 N/A's while I can

I have the 262's on my 96. Are you planning to do the swap yourself? It can get expensive if you take it to a shop. It's a decent gain but you'll be disappointed if you spend a grand and a half on it.

When I get one of these cams, I'm guessing I am going to need a tune to really take full advantage.

Would the SCT XCAL2 be a good choice and be able to handle my mods?
If so, where's the best place to order one with a custom tune preloaded for my car? (I mean the BEST Mail order tuner)

My car is a DD and and just can't see taking it to get dyno tuned. I'm pretty sure I can get away with a custom tune on a handheld, my mods aren't too crazy. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Once again, thanks for the help!

cushmanmotorsports!!!!Sweeet!Glad that they didn't give up.Both Jim and Scott are awesome guys, they live locally to me,so i see them out at the drags, and car shows, they know there crap!I have the VT stage II n/a cams, and love them. Now seeing that cushmanmotorsports is now up,that is a bonus for us mod guys.I couldn't imagine going with any other cams, especially when you got modular specific guys that put there time into these cams unlike the other name brands that make cams for any auto manufactures automobile out there, not saying that they are garbage,i just rather get my cams from guys that deal with modular motors, and do the testing, and researching to see what works, and doesn't work.Just my 2 cents.

Best place to get a mail order tune from would be MPH.

2 different companies. NOT the same cams. I am JIm that used to work for VT Engines and have started my own place now to continue to serve the mustang community. I designed all the cams for VT Engines so I have those grinds available. Obviously they will now be known as CMS grinds, but they are the original and popular VT grinds that I developed.

weak thing is they used to be $571 w/ free shipping, then it was lowered to $559.55 (yay right?) but now it's $30 shipping and there's no coupon codes out

Let me give you a little hint. New customers get a coupon e-mailed to them upon registration on the store as a customer. This coupon is for free shipping on any order. So, take a second to sign up, get the coupon # e-mailed to you, then go back and use it for free shipping! I just started this last night, so give it a try!
