I was under the impression (and told by ford) that the pad bracket is NOT sold seperately and that's the part that needs to be changed to accomadate cobra (vented) rotors because they are wider.
For rears that is.
The ford M-2300-M kit consists of the new dust shields, the anti-moan brackets, dust shield bolts, rotors, and axle brackets for 189 MSRP. I bought the antimoan brackets and axle brackets seperate since I wanted slotted rotors.
If you decide to reuse your stock calipers, the piston needs to be turned in with the special tool to accomodate the wider rotors. The caliper bracket needs to be clearanced as well, with some of the inside ground out to fit the wider rotor. I did this with no problems.
If you don't care to do that, you will need to buy cobra rear calipers, ford part #M-2320-CR, for $215.00. These are the same as the GT calipers, except the gap in bracket where the rotor passes through is slightly wider as previously stated.
With some new slotted eBay rotors, new axle bracket, anti-moan brackets, and reusing my calipers I have vented and slotted 11.65" rear brakes for under 250.00$ They work great and match the front Saleen/Brembos very well.
Oh, and the 2003 and 2004 cobras have the exact same rear brake setup as the previous iterations.
