No updates for right now. I changed the oil and I'm ready to start it up again. It will probably have to wait until next weekend though. I've just been busy with other things lately.

I have this Thursday and Friday off, so I plan on using those days to get some work done on the car for the first time in a few weeks. Still waiting to find out what's happening with the rear wheels, but here are some glamour shots of the fronts.

Haha. The tire shop actually did that. It was nice of them to clean up the tires after mounting. The crap is all over the wheels though.

damn i wanted more progress!

i just pulled my engine and we got my buddy's black hatch 76mm turbo running after about a year of build time. lots of stuff going on down here.

Progress has been slower than I would like. It should start picking back up again soon. Speaking of progress....

I still don't feel like doing more wiring, so I decided to work on the sound deadening. Here's the RAAMmat laid down. I apparently didn't order enough. I need a few more sheets to cover the spare tire area and doors. You'll noticed I didn't cover every square inch of the floor. It's not necessary to do so. I probably put down too much as is.

Over the top of the CLA tiles went some ensolite foam. It's an acoustical barrier. Supposed to work in conjunction with the CLA tiles to make the inside nice and quiet.

The 'knock test' was impressive between the floor pans in the front and the trunk in the rear, which hasn't had the stuff laid down yet.

Yea @MikeH686, it's nice stuff. Sound deadening isn't cheap to begin with, but the RAAMaudio stuff is competitively priced. I also like the fact that the company is a one man show. Jason is known to be a very nice guy and he stands behind his product. I'm all about supporting small business as well.

He actually bought that company from a guy named rick I bought my stuff from rick for my Tacoma build I did four years ago then when I went to order the stuff for my mustang rick told me he was handing the company off to Jason and that I was buying the last bit of stock that rick had at his house haha

Some more sound deadening fun.

I'm all out. Need to order more to finish the hatch area.

I did get more wiring done. The only thing left is the interior lighting. The car is going to have an alarm system, so I'm going to run wires for that now, but I'm not going to wire it all up for a little while. I'm just anxious to get the dash back in and get the interior close to done. I also plan to install some spare wires from the driver side to passenger side across the dash. This way, if I ever want to install something and need to get power across the dash, the wires will already be there.

I don't think I posted a picture of the radio. Finally got that wired up. It's got a retro look, but will accept an AUX input from a phone and has an adapter that goes in the glove box to accept a thumb drive or SD card. I store all my music on SD cards, so it's perfect for what I need. Also has RCA inputs for an amplifier.

I also think I'm going to install a resistor for that blue water pump LED. The little bugger is friggen bright!

I think the look of the radio is a little too retro. The radios in the 85-86 mustangs weren't THAT basic(the 2 big knobs). lol

Yes, but back up 2 more years and they did have the dual knob style radios. I know that radio won't appeal to some folks, especially the younger crowd. I just despise the look of typical aftermarket radios. They are all too flashy and futuristic looking. I prefer the old school look. At one point I almost even decided on putting a pre-87 dash in the car. I actually prefer them over the 87-93 interiors.

I have all this wiring done, but no power yet. Decided now is a good time to get the battery cables routed so I can start testing voltage on everything I'm installing. I wanted to route the cables away from everything so I drilled some holes and fished the cables through the rockers . Out of sight and out of mind.

I'm going to bolt an insulated post above the line lock solenoid. The battery cable will terminate there and then I can use that post to distribute power to the rest of the car. The ground cable will go to the block and a bolt I welded to the frame rail. Still LOTS more wiring to look forward to.

I hate to quote a post thats a few months old, but i wanted to know: What is your reasoning for going with Hydroboost on a pushrod motor?

If they made a radio thats similar in look to the ones that came in the 87-93 mustangs with modern upgrades id be all over it. Don't care too much for aftermarket radios either.

I was a little concerned with lackluster braking performance due to my cam profile. The hydroboost should give me a nice pedal feel. I also did it for engine bay aesthetics. It looks a lot cleaner and it also allowed me to run the fuel lines along the firewall to hide them from view.

Trunk area is all done.

I was also able to get the carpet in.

Depending on how things go tomorrow, I might be able to get the dash in. I still need to run a few more wires and tidy everything up.
