Build Thread Want To Blow 5 Years And $50k On A Foxbody? Step By Step Instructions Inside!

Looks great and I can't wait to see how she performs. Mikes talking about "hand grenade close" and snipers. Looking at the two builds, well I'm working up from the slingshot to the blow dart gun...lol. Keep it up, besides I need a bunch of you guys to get done to help me elevate the shoddy craftsmanship on mine.

Scott, every time you give an update I want to go into my garage and tear apart my car and start from scratch. That car is about as perfect as a build can get.
Thanks man. It's been fun, but I'm ready to drive this car down the damn road. It just needs a tune and a front bumper and then she's good enough to drive around until the weather turns cold.

Started getting the bumper ready to mount. I need to trim the back side of the headlight panel a bit to clear the intercooler. I also don't have the cobra grill insert fully mounted yet.

The fog light bracket will also need trimming thanks to the intercooler. It's going to be a very tight fit. I may need to space it back further an inch or so.

It's nice to see the cars face though! The headlights are NOS Ford pieces that I scored on eBay.

I had to look at the pic for a minute.........Initially, it looked like you had all that stuff coming outta the hood. I was thinking that maybe my scoops hanging off the body won't be so bad after all, if Scott is gonna let all of that stuff hang out.;)

So, it appears that my cutting and welding isn't over yet. I was messing around with the bumper to intercooler clearance last night and I need to move the intercooler back about 2". The issue with that is the top coldside pipe is not going to allow me to do that without making it shorter. I'm going to have to get the welding tank filled again. It sucks that the pipe is already coated, but it won't be seen so I can just spray the new welds with some regular paint. Slight overlook on my part. I didn't anticipate the headlight panel to be so close to the intercooler. Pictures to come soon.

I need to fill my bottle soon too. I'm happy at least the my bottle got all of my engine bay done but I need to weld in my SFC's so I'll have to pay up.

Your comment also reminds me every time I watch the movie "Die Hard" and the twinkie robbing cop walks out of the gas station to look at the Nakotomi (sp) building and you see the gas prices back then IIRC it was 75 cents per/gln and gas was still leaded/unleaded.

Cobra grill got mounted up. My method is possibly a bit overkill, but it sits flush and surely isn't going anywhere.

I used plastic weld epoxy to mount screws to the grill insert.

Double sided tape on the bumper also.

The insert has two holes for mounts, so I made aluminum brackets that will do most of the holding to keep the insert in place.

I also got the intercooler clearance ordeal figured out.

Here's the pipes before I butchered up the top one.

After some butchering. Shortened it by about 3".

Teaser of it mocked up. I'll be permanently mounting it this week.
