Wanted to say hi

Hello all. After being gone for many years from the mustang family I am back. I recently sold my daily driver, a Mini Cooper S, and picked up a 2005 Mustang GT. Its performance white and a 5 speed.
I have been lurking for the past two weeks and searched and found answers for many things on this board:nice:
I do have a couple of questions if you will put up with this n00b :D

First has anyone modified the stock hood to eliminate the high speed shake and lift? I do not want to purchase an aftermarket glass hood or install a shaker scoop. So looking for anyone that has vented or louvered the stocker. As an aside, does the GT500 hood have this problem?

Second, I am looking at doing some suspension mods. I have been leaning toward the Steeda Club Racer 1&2 packages, brakes will come later. Anyone used this package or is familiar and went with another suspension?

Third, does anyone know of a good mustang tuner/shop in the Norfolk Virginia area, or close by? My shop that works on my Porsche can install the suspension, but down the road I am looking at a Kenne Bell install.

Great to be here, and thanks,

Lane

Hi and welcome aboard:nice:
To answer your first question,(has been brought up by others on here)the hood can shake due to the lack of aerodynamic front end styling. It has been refered to as "brick" like. This causes the air to push up under the front lip of the hood without flowing over the top uninterupted. I would say the GT500 does not have this problem as it has 2 functional extractors similar to the last run of Cobras.
