I have flowmasters dumped and it sounds okay, but sometimes the resonance inside gets really bad. I'd suggest going with anything stainless because at least they won't rust out like my flowmasters are.

I've also got dumps... sounds awesome. BBK long tubes with an X pipe and flowmasters. The resonance is the best part! For me, right around 1000 rpm it will just vibrate the hell out of the car. Maybe it's just me... but i think thats cool.

I run dumped flowmasters, BBK LTs and an offroad H. Sounds pretty good and not a lot of drone. It had more drone before I swapped the shorties out for the LTs. Getting ready to swap the flowmasters for race bullets.

same here, have had the mac dumps for a couple of months, (on the car when I bought it), don't care for the sounds and vapor rising from the wheel wells when its cold out. Will be switching to tailpipes this coming winter.

I know people that run dumps at the track, in fact, there are people that run open headers. How can you not run dumps then?

Dumps will get rid of the tone in the exhaust and gives more of a feel than a sound. Personally I hate them, but people like them. You can buy mac dumps out of any Summit or most Mac dealerships for pretty cheap!

Well i went with flowmasters. First thoughts

More rumble over 1500, at idle no real change outside of car other than a tit-bit louder prob due to the 303
Tone and everyting stayed the same, other than the sound bouncing off the ground..

WOT, maybe its a PLACEBO and in my head, but she feels ALOT smoother.

I dunno if it ends up not my liking ill just put new pipes on.....

Put Flowmaster dumps on my car today, with the LTs and O/R X, and it sounds like total crap. At no RPM does it even sound any good! If you guys want dumps feel free, but personally I hate them!

yeah but that only applies to an NMRA event, not local grudge nights.

I've had dumps on every one of my cars and thought it sounded good as long as you had the right exhaust setup.

Im running 1 chamber flows, o/r h and bbk shorties right now and like the way it sounds, although i havent been able to drive it.

Right now I have long tubes, off road X and flowmaster dumps and it just sounds horrible...

As far as NMRA goes, the ONLY class you have to run tailpipes is Factory Stock. Real Street and Pure Street allow dumps. You will not see any racers with tailpipes in PS and RS, if not for the less parts on the car, but because they run anti roll bars, and trying to snake tails back there is not easy!

Not sure if anyone care to read my article, but I came up with a dump mod that allows you to keep your tail pipes and cap up your dumps to pass inspection and when you just get tired of the drone...lol

http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/cutouts.htm

Some people have questioned if this would heat up the gas tank since its not really facing down. The correct answer is no. I have had these installed on 3 of my mustangs and never had one problem.

Check em out and if you have any questions I will be more than happy to try to answer them.

Also , just to make sure everyone knows....
These are not the same thing as the Warlock mufflers people buy. Warlock mufflers actually have a bypass inside the muffler so when open it is like not running mufflers at all. Very raspy in my opinion. My mod just cuts a hole in the rear of the muffler on the opposite side of the tailpipe outlet. On flowmasters the inside rear chamber is identical. The exhaust gas works its way through the muffler like normal whether the cap is on or off.
