I have a stock 1984 302 out of a Grand marquee that runs fine, but I would like to increase the CR and improve airflow. I have a set of E7 heads that I was going to port and polish and then install. I was doing a little research and I read that 302s from 1984 used flat top pistons and that that would create vale clearance issues if I installed the E7 heads. Another source said I would be fine if I am running a stock cam. I would also like to use 1.7 ratio roller rockers, but of course that would make things even worse. Can some one tell me for sure first of all if the E7 heads will work with flat toped pistons and a stock cam? Secondly if it will work will I have the clearance to install the 1.7 ratio roller rockers?
