GREENWOOD AUTO PARTS

Warning this machine shop is not doing a good work. I took a set of heads to have the springs set up. I told the guys to make sure I had the correct valve seals. I told them that the engine was going to have a S\C on it so please put the best seals they had on them. The heads are NEW AFR’s.

Well let me tell you what I found when I got the heads home. I found the inner springs hitting the valve seals. This would destroy the seals in short order and then the engine shortly after that. They didn't even replace the stock AFR seals. With around $4500 in this new engine it goes without saying I was pissed off. On 10/28/04 I went and bought the correct seals to clear the inner springs. I then took one of the heads to GREENWOOD AUTO PARTS. I showed the problem to the guy I left the heads with. ( Note this guy has been working this job for 20+ years.) He said that this rubbing was a problem and knew this was wrong but, he didn't do the work. He said to go talk to the guy who did the work back in the shop so I did. ( This guy to has done machine work for over 20 years at this same place) He, like the guy at the front counter, agreed this was a severe problem and should have never been left like this. I trusted these guys to do a good job. The man who did the work said Quote “ Well we wouldn’t do that to you again.” He thinks I would let them work on anything again. BS.

I worked at this machine shop back in the 80’s when I was just a kid. Both the guys that I spoke to worked there when I was there. This is your warning guys never trust someone doing machine work. Always double check what they have done. NEVER DEAL WITH GREENWOOD AUTO PARTS. Not once did they offer to refund my money or correct the problem they just acted like a deer caught in the headlights. They got caught and had no way to explain why they did this. How many other engines have they made mistakes like this?

If anyone wants names or pics of the problems just e-mail me I will sent them to you.

Once again when it comes to after market performance parts and machine work trust no one. Learn all you can before laying down you hard earned money.

Oh we forgot to put oil in your car? It won't happen again. By the way, do you want us to replace your engine? We'll give you a good deal at only $5600 for a 2.3L. If you want your 4.6L back we'll have to do it for $9800.
