I have the black bottom too. Was it only on certain colors? Somone figured it out last year, but I forget who and why some have it and some don't.

I have the black strip too and i love it. It goes perfect with my black saleen tail light covers and my black mustang gt in the bumper. When i get my rear bumper repainted i will have them spray that part black.

I also like the black there. Really looks like it should just be in there coz of it's lines. Too bad, I guess Ford got lazy/cheap in the paint department in 1996

i would look better if it wasnt that flat black.... if it was gloss and cleared it would like sick with the matching bezels...not saying your car in general because a lot of guys for some reason paint the bezels black???

i also had the two tone rear bumper...... then i painted it and also painted the side mirrors. IMO... makes the car look a whole lot better.
