I ordered the white arm rests from a catalog, and they appeared white, but my interior is red and stark white. When I added the arm rests, they looked cream colored not what I would call "armrest color=#FFFFFF" (sorry, programming humor)

Anyway, I tried some vinal paint and the color was great but right away, it began cracking and flaking off.

My question is: Does anyone know if they have these arm rests in bright white?

Also, I was dissappointed that the "chrome" base was plastic and not metal. Were they metal in 1965?

I just looked at your photos again in your other thread and noticed that the stark white you are referring to is the painted surfaces of your interior and that you don't have any upholstered white. I believe the colour you recieved is correct and you are comparing apples to oranges. Try red armrests. I think the white might looked a little gaudy.

The arm rest pads are just a block of wood topped with a thin layer of foam and wrapped in the vinyl, stapled on the bottom. You can easily remove the vinyl and get some that better matches what you are looking for from a local upholstery shop. Once you have the vinyl, you could do the whole project in probably less than 30 minutes.

Good luck!

I dont know it was named differently for interiors, but also known as Wimbledon White. The modern paint is Oxford White and is a true white.

Cool,

I have been a software developer for awhile (VB, VB.NET).

When I bought the Mustang, the other IT folks at the office teased me that I bought the muscle car to compensate for the geek factor. I think I a must be a new brand of geek. I like loud music, loud cars, and (gasp) I haven't seen Star Wars.

good to see other IT folks in here.
