I bought a set of the clear corner headlights from MT/AM a few months ago. Right after I got them the passenger side started leaking when I washed my car. I called MT and they said if I collected on my warrenty I would have to send in my headlights and have them inspected to see if it was a manu. defect and that I would be without them for a couple weeks while they inspected them and sent me a new set. One of my old headlights was cracked so I threw them away...so that ruled out sending them back.
So the guy at MT said I should do the old stick it in the oven for 5mins then reseal it. I did that...and completely resealed the headlight with silicon. I even put some dialectric grease around the bulb seals to try and keep water out. That worked for a few weeks now BOTH headlights are letting water in when it rains.
Does anyone have any ideas about how to seal these headlights up better? Anyone had similar experiences?
I think the water is getting in through the vents in the back. If I sealed them would it get too hot in the enclosures? Thanks for any tips.
