I replaced the waterpump about a year ago. I used a good gasket and sealant. What is all that nasty build up from? Im assuming its leaking again. Its a Stewart's water pump btw

Car has been sitting since Oct in my garage.

It's some sort of nasty corrosion. Try and figure out if there is any water coming from anywhere.

its pretty much all over the water pump. i cant see any specific spots because of all thay nasty corrosion on it. My old waterpump leaked but it never looked like that. not sure why it would be so bad and what would cause it to do that.

Wipe it all down and take it out for a nice long cruise. Bring it in and check for leaks.
Its definatley leaking from somewhere. Did you check that thermostat housing? As well as check all your hoses.

You can also rent one of those cooling system pressurizing kits, and pressurize the cooling system to see where it comes from. I think it's a free rental at Autozone. I have one here.

Took it apart today and It's definitely the water pump gasket. Going to pick up a fel pro gasket at the local auto store. Do you guys use rtv sealant on the block and water pump?

I don't. RTV makes a mess. Just clean it up really well. I usually use a little Form-A-Gasket brush on tack.
