hey guys, i gotta stewart warner water pump. it cam with two plates. i put the one in and it didnt look lke the other one was suppose to go behind it. the water pump needs to come out about 1/8 of an inch to align my pulleys. do i use both of the plates? thanks!

Ok guys i went and bought a stock water pump just to be sure. i put everything back together even with a washer on every bolt between the water pump snout and the pulley to space it out. it stills needs to come out towards the fan about 3/16-1/4in! why is it doing this. when i put the 89 shortblock in i used the timing cover off of it but they are all the same arent they? i never had this problem before so im stumped??? any suggestions???

you only use one of the plates. Match it up with your old waterpump or the timing cover to find out which one. You may have to purchase a spacer or shims to put behind the pulley. I had to do that for my 428 with my crappy Milidon water pump.
