Whats the best way of getting these off? They are currently on the paint and on the glass. Unfortinitaly, the townhouse im living in has automatic sprinklers, and my car gets a bath every morning

You can try using a 50/50 mix of vinegar and distilled water. That usually works quite well if you clean up the water spots right away. Otherwise there are detailing products out there specifically for this purpose. I've heard very good things about Chemical Guys Water Spot Remover on Autopia. IIRC this stuff can be ordered online and costs around $15 for a 16oz bottle.

Unfortunately, water spots that end up sitting for an extended period of time will etch the paint and the glass. Sometimes the only way to remove them is to use a polishing compound and a rotary or DA machine.

SRT Handz has used this with good results, but again if the water spots have been there a while you probably need to polish the paint.

When my apartment runs the sprinklers i just go over the car with maguire's quick detailer and window cleaner.

yeah well not everyone wants to run out with quick detailer at 6am

Trust me Steeda try the vinegar, if it doesn't work get the Chemical Guys Water Spot Remover, and if that doesn't work do what you can to either deal with it until you move or get a garage spot and pay for someone to polish your paint

Im gonna try the vinegar here in about a week. If that doesnt work, im gonna get some of the chemical guys stuff. If that doesnt work, im gonna be pissed haha

What about putting a couple of buckets upside down on the sprinkler heads each night

most sprinkler heads have an adjustment where you can control the spray area.. perhaps you can fix it so that it doesn't spray towards your car

Problem: My house has REALY REALLY REALLY hard water. From years of washing my car at home with hard water, I developed water spots where on the outer side of the trunk seal in the Jams. The Water spots were REALLY BAD and VERY thick. I got sick of seeing the spots so i wanted them gone.

Solution: Chemical Guys Water Spot Remover

I decided to try CG Water Spot Remover on the problem and see what happens. The product itself is a Gel, so it doesnt drip and run where you dont want it to go. The Product itself smells HORRIBLE!! Its smells like Stinky Vagina To me. Kinda Odd because every other CG product has a Great fruity smell.

Process:: I washed the area with Soapy water and Wiped with IPA. I then used the WaterSpotRemover with a MF towel and rubbed the area. The Product does not need alot of muscle, but needs some action to do the job. I used an MF towel for the large areas. I also noticed you need to keep the gel on the area, if it soaks into the towel, it doesnt work as well. I used a Brush to apply the gel to the crevasses and agitate. Once the job was done I rinsed with Water and wiped down with IPA

Results: AMAZING!!! The spots are GONE!!! I didnt even have to work hard to get them off!!! Awesome Product that is a MUST HAVE in the collection. This will come very handy in the future!!!
