ways to make stang faster....please help!!!

It is going to be difficult to get faster without buying anything. You might be able to get a little more out of your timing, but you are close to the limit. One way to get more "free" quickness would be to lose vehicle weight. Practicing driving could get you faster as well.

I don't have time this second to type the whole process, but there may be a thread on here somewhere about setting your TPS voltage on your Throttle Body, using a voltage meter and elongating the holes and turning it to about .95- .98 VDC , it will help your throttle response.
There is more to it.....sorry have to get back to work but here is something I found doing a real quick search....

Try this... Currently there is some dispute about setting it at .99 volts being worth the effort, but anything less is probably OK. All you need is less than 1.0 volt at idle and more than 4.25 at Wide Open Throttle (WOT). Somewhere between .70 and .99 is the best range. You'll need a Digital Voltmeter (DVM) to do the job.

The Orange/White wire is the VREF 5 volts from the computer. You use the Dark Green/Lt green wire (TPS signal) and the Black/White wire (TPS ground) to set the TPS. Use a pair of safety pins to probe the TPS connector from the rear of the connector. You may find it a little difficult to make a good connection, but keep trying. Put the safety pins in the Dark Green/Lt green wire and Black/White wire. Make sure the ignition switch is in the Run position but the engine isn't running.

Here’s a TPS tip I got from NoGo50

When you installed the sensor make sure you place it on the peg right and then tighten it down properly. Loosen the back screw a tiny bit so the sensor can pivot and loosen the front screw enough so you can move it just a little in very small increments. I wouldn’t try to adjust it using marks.

1. Always adjust the TPS and Idle with the engine at operating temp. Dive it around for a bit if you can and get it nice and warm.

2. When you probe the leads of the TPS, do not use an engine ground, put the ground probe into the lead of the TPS. You should be connecting both meter probes to the TPS and not one to the TPS and the other to ground.

3. Always reset the computer whenever you adjust the TPS or clean/change any sensors. I just pull the battery lead for 10 minutes.

4. Check the procedure for your year, on my 90 I have to turn the idle screw until it just touches the tab, then insert a .010 feeler gauge and give it about one more turn.

24 lb fuel inject.
cold air with mass air flow
flowmasters 40 series with straight pipes

msd distrib. timed at about 12 to 14

its not alot but its quick as hell believe it or not

+1 on removing weight. Adjusting the TPS gives 0 hp.

not going to get any where with out buying something. heads cam intake headers exhaust gears will help alot. even just gears 3.73 or 4.10. there is other thing u can do take out the carpet theres there padding under it u can romove all of thats that stuff is all over the mustangs

Get a short belt. When I used to race my 69 the fox body guys would bypass the power steering and ac I believe. Somebody on here probably knows what length belt to use. It's easy to do. They would drive to where we were racing and swap belts. Took about 3 to 4 minutes. After the race the put the other belt back on

I agree that no HP difference in my TPS suggestion, but atleast to me it seems to have made a difference in my throttle response, my brother in law (who drives my car from time to time) took it one day shortly after I changed it (not knowing that I messed with it) and asked what I did to the car because it felt different...which is why I didn't tell him I did it...to prove to myself that I wasn't just thinking that it felt better....as a side note my TPS was originally set really low.
Again no HP gains, but my car did seem a little bit snappier. This of course is one of those things that is hard to prove!!!!

Interesting about the TPS voltage.. never heard that one before. How exactly does it make the response quicker? Does the Throttle body open a little faster?

I wonder how this would effect my car being that its boosted...
