So it's been a while since I've logged in .. how you all doin ?
Hope everything is going well for you all...

I think the time has come for me to sell the coupe .....

Psyche .....

2 things really .. I'm lookin a a few cars for DD and I keep comming back to the 04 SVT Focus .. any one have any thoughts on the car? it's either that or a mazda 3 wagon or maybe a (OMG) Jetta .. who knows .. lemme hear what ya all think ..

The other thing is .. It's time for heads and a cam for the Saleen .. lets hear some good options ...

Well, that rules out the Focus...

The Mazda3 is made in Japan I believe. The Mazda6 on the other hand, is made in the same plant as the 2005 Mustang. So perhaps that is "American" enough for you?

When you own this car .. you can do as you please .. but for now .. it's mine and I will make and damn change I want to it ...

For the Saleen, what I would do depends on the budget. You can get a lot for a little by working over a set of GT40P heads real good. Or you can go upscale and fork over the cash for some AFR's. I would do the AFR's myself... but then again I'm biased. (and fickle too, just in case nobody mentioned it...)

i didnt know the mazda was US made, but still promoting the mazda name. About keeping the saleen stock, i was just sayin thats what i would do. If you didnt understand correctly, I mentioned to keep the stock parts.

Good too see you back and kicking Jay. I have to say, when you mentioned you were selling the coupe, I was like, where is Jays digets!

Trickflow makes a great head for a decent price...although I would not recommend getting the valve covers that come with it. Also, a good GT40 cobra head 1.7 rockers with some port work and a motorsport cam would wake that coupe right up....you can get a set of gt40 heads and 1.7 rockers usually for around $350 to 550 bucks...There are better heads and cam, but you cant beat the performance for the price in my book. Look at my set up...287 and 308 rw power with GT40 heads, 1.7 rockers and the ole E303 cam.

i was behind one of those focus's and he made it into a dual exhaust all riced out n everything. it wasn't even a svt. can't hate it too much it's american.. oh but so as i was sayin i started laughing at the exhaust and just when i thought i could laugh any harder the dmn muffler fell right off from underneath. it looked like the car hop skipped and jumped along with some sparks... i could see the guy look back, but he just kept going. i changed lanes to avoid it, but *** i was laughing my ass off so hard - slapping the steering wheel n dash.

i started to cry almost couldn't see. aughhh i still laugh about it. obviously did it himself all wrong.

Hey Jay, nice to hear from you. If you're looking a Focus SVT just to have some performance....forget it, a civic si runs and handles better. Has for the jetta, well you could get the TDi and get close to 50mpg. Not much to it, just a plain jane car. But since its a DD I'd go with the jetta just for the fact that has outstanding gas milage and great resale value due to being diesel.
As for your saleen, Dave has the best advice...cant go wrong with AFR's.

Hi Jay, have you looked at the supercharged Cobalt? Seems to have good numbers. SVT Focus is more for handling than speed according to the owners I have talked to.
