I remember that. The IRC chatroom LOL. I have been thinking about setting up a server at my house and possibly hosting something like that. That was a long time ago... I remember then Larry picking it up and creating the other forums we like. But I would be game for some good ol' IRC chat.

I remember that bigtime. I fould it when I was creating my little monster. It is where I found out about Stanknet. I still keep in touch with some guys around the country that I met in that room..
There are all sorts of IRC servers out there.. probably just a matter of registering a room. However the net has changed so much the room would probably be floded with NAWS kiddies in a matter of days :-(

All you need is a good botnet and working knowledge of the services that the server runs. It's pretty easy to stop a bunch of asshats from flooding a channel or raising hell. Just don't host the server on a residential broadband line or expect to get DDoS'd by the same idiots. It's better to just establish the channel on a well known network that provides good protection services against ass-holes.
